John Nurminen Foundation – Baltic Sea protection and marine culture. Founded in 1992, the purpose of the John Nurminen Foundation is to save the Baltic Sea and its heritage to future generations. The Foundation has been awarded for its work as a communicator of information and producer of marine content. The goal of the Foundation’s Clean Baltic Sea projects is to improve the condition of the Baltic Sea with tangible measures that will reduce the load and environmental risks directed at the sea. Give a young, vulnerable person a gift of hope and help.

Young people who find themselves in a challenging situation will receive care from professional social workers. This gift helps a young person get back on track with studying or working life.

Tens of thousands of young people have dropped out of school or working life. Many struggle with loneliness, financial worries, mental health problems, or substance abuse. The Vamos Youth Service of the Deaconess Foundation offers support for young people aged 16–29 in the form of individual and group coaching. About 2,000 young people participate in Vamos activities every year. The Vamos Youth Service has around 100 employees in 11 locations: Espoo, Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Lahti, Oulu, Rovaniemi, Siilinjärvi, Tampere, Turku and Vantaa.
