The Vamos units of Diakonissalaitos across Finland have been supporting young people aged 16-29 in challenging situations for years. Each young person starting at Vamos is assigned a dedicated worker who provides unhurried support for daily life and future planning. Kotimaanapu provides versatile and concrete assistance to people in difficulty across the country. Donations are used to support those in need financially, through the provision of goods or food, or by other essential means aimed at improving the quality of life for people facing hardships.

Donations to Kotimaanapu are directed to the aid work of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland’s parishes. The help reaches those in need through deaconal workers — from person to person. Each parish in Finland engages in diaconal work, offering assistance to those in distress regardless of origin, religion, or political belief.

Charity, Home Street Home

Home Street Home (HSH) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote education, well-being, and health of children and young people in Kwale County, Kenya. HSH is committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals through its work and projects.

The organization’s main initiative is the HSH Center, a community hub located in the Makongeni village on the Kenyan coast. One of the Center’s most important functions is the health clinic, which also hosts HSH Babyshower maternity workshops. The goal of the HSH Babyshower project is to support expectant mothers through health check-ups, ultrasound examinations, and education. In addition, all participating mothers receive maternity packages. By 2025, the project has reached more than 600 mothers.
