Maija Isola designed the Unikko pattern as an abstract interpretation rather than a photorealistic version of the floral theme. Charity, Vamos Youth Service of the Deaconess Foundation

The Vamos units of Diakonissalaitos across Finland have been supporting young people aged 16-29 in challenging situations for years. Many things can complicate the lives of young people, such as mental health issues, interrupted studies, unemployment, substance use, homelessness, or challenges within their close circles. Each young person starting at Vamos is assigned a dedicated worker who provides unhurried support for daily life and future planning. In addition to individual support, young people are welcome to participate in group activities if they wish, where they can find peer support and make new friends. In 2024, on average, half of Vamos clients continued their studies or successfully entered the job market.

Over 2,000 young people participate in the activities annually. Vamos Youth Services employs approximately 100 staff members in 11 locations: Espoo, Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Lahti, Oulu, Rovaniemi, Siilinjärvi, Tampere, Turku, and Vantaa.

Charity, Home Street Home

Home Street Home (HSH) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote education, well-being, and health of children and young people in Kwale County, Kenya. HSH is committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals through its work and projects.

The organization’s main initiative is the HSH Center, a community hub located in the Makongeni village on the Kenyan coast. One of the Center’s most important functions is the health clinic, which also hosts HSH Babyshower maternity workshops. The goal of the HSH Babyshower project is to support expectant mothers through health check-ups, ultrasound examinations, and education. In addition, all participating mothers receive maternity packages. By 2025, the project has reached more than 600 mothers.
